Does Bio Skin Jetting Involve Injections?
Not as such. There is no product or substance which is injected into the skin. However, the procedure still involves insertion of a probe under your skin. This probe if very fine in diameter and is run along the wrinkle. So whilst there are no injections, your skin still requires piercing and insertion of a long tiny rod. If you are opting for reduced pain by trying to avoid injections, then bio-skin-jetting may not be suitable for you. The pain factor is similar to other anti-wrinkle injections. However, the practitioner can apply a light anaesthetic cream to alleviate the discomfort.
How Does BioSkinJetting Work?
The procedure stimulates collagen growth by prompting the body to heal itself. Collagen, being the main protein found in the skin’s connective tissue, is made easily whilst the body is still young and growing. However, once we start aging, collagen starts to break down and the tonofibrils (which produce collagen) stop being active. They are reactivated only through injury. Bio Skin Jetting relies on injuring the skin beneath the wrinkles in order to promote collagen production and cell renewal. This is a similar effect to the barbed or cogged threads used in aptos threading (which also stimulate collagen growth through by irritating the skin).
Is Bio Skin Jetting Permanent?
No. The results will fade over time as your skin continues to age. There are factors which can inhibit the lasting effects of the treatment including smoking, over exposing your skin to the sun, alcohol, illness, exaggerated facial movements and stress. The temporary improvement seen with Bio Skin Jetting lasts anywhere between 3 months and 2 years, depending on the individual, their health and age, depth of the wrinkle and condition of the skin.
Do I Need to Take Time Off Work After Bio Skin Jetting?
You should be able to go back to work immediately after the treatment. A treatment session can be as short as 15 minutes. Depending on the size of the area being treated and how many wrinkles are involved, clinics do offer extended sessions, usually up to 40 minutes. The treatment is non-invasive, carried out by a beauty therapist, so there should not be any down time. Some patients also combine the treatment with BioSkinSmoothing.
How Many Treatments Do I Need?
You won’t see results with just one session. Fine wrinkles require approximately 3 sessions. Deeper wrinkles will need around 5 to 7 treatment sessions. Your beautician will advise the number of treatments required depending on your age and depth of wrinkles. Treatments are usually set around 10 to 14 days apart.
Which Areas Can BioSkinJetting Treat?
The procedure is used predominantly for facial wrinkles. It can improve most areas on the face including forehead lines, frown lines, nasolabial folds, crow’s feet, marionette lines and wrinkles above the upper lip and around the eyes.
